The new Veterans Community Center located at 508 North Lincoln Street opened in November of 2006. The Center features a 25-meter swimming pool and therapy pool. Swimming lessons and water aerobics are offered year-round.
There is an indoor walking track and exercise room with cardio and weight equipment. Many different levels of aerobics classes are offered. The Center has two basketball courts and a meeting room for use by Cabot businesses, civic groups and residents. Cabot Parks and Recreation is continually offering new programs. Call 605-1506 for more information.
The City of Cabot’s Park and Recreation system offers a diverse group of programs that allows the residents of the Cabot area participation in one type of sports year-round. The parks and recreation staff maintain the grounds of seven baseball fields, four softball fields, two lighted football fields and 10 soccer fields.
Softball and baseball programs are available for ages 5 and up. A football program is offered for K through 6th grades and soccer is offered for ages 4-18.
The City pool on Richie Road is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend. Park staff provides swimming lessons and pool parties and offers a swim team for those competitive swimmers ages 5-18.
Adjacent to the pool is a beautiful shaded park featuring a playground and a handicapped-accessible one-half mile lighted walking track. A 14 acre tract located in the Hunter’s Run subdivision is furnished with two pavilions, a playground and a ¼ mile walking track.
